What is a birth chart, and how is it formed?

A birth chart is your unique map of the sky when you were born, it acts as a mirror of your potential and provides you with the keys to deepening the connection with yourself.

Your birth chart is your cosmic portrait, it holds the woven intricacies of your being, acting as a guide to translate your soul purpose, karmic patterns, innate characteristics, desires and motivations, plus potential vulnerabilities and hidden talents. Your chart is intended to provide you with a greater understanding of who you truly are through the lens of astrology.

What does your ‘big three’ mean?

Your big three are the core aspects of your identity in astrology.

The Sun is how you shine - it’s your heart's flame and the light you cast into the world. The sign it is in shows how you express this life force & your identity, individuality and the core journey that you're on in life.  As an example, if your Sun is in Gemini, you're likely going to be really adaptable and flexible as you’re an air sign, so fluidity is both a desire and what comes naturally in how you navigate your world. Change is expressed with excitement and wonder! You’re a quick thinker and naturally curious, so you love to learn new things and find out about others - communication in relationships is paramount.

The Moon is a really interesting one to note, this is a huge part of you as it describes your emotional side, and what you need to feel safe and comfortable. It’s the lunar imprint that reveals your emotional response and needs, and how you relate to others on a deeper level. This is one of the most revealing signs and most important! Once you know your Moon, everything starts to make sense.

If you’re a Scorpio Moon you’re someone who may naturally be more guarded, particularly when meeting new people or approaching new situations. Scorpio’s archetype is the Scorpion which loves to hide under a rock! Once you feel secure and in control, you are devotional to those you love - there’s a depth of passion that resides within you; that said, if anyone ever breaks your trust it’s highly unlikely that they’ll have a chance to ever get close to you again.

The Rising sign, also known as the ascendant sign, is how you perceive things, and how others see you. It describes your emergence into the world and the first chapter of your story;  and so this sign can often be the mask that you wear to the world.

Let’s say you’re a Virgo rising, this means that you approach your immediate world seeking order and structure, so routine is going to be really important to you. It also shows that you naturally like to be of duty to others and you may feel a desire to problem solve and help to fix things for others in practical ways. Others will perceive you as humble, detail orientated and the first to help!

How to find jewellery for your star signs:

What are the fire signs’ jewellery style?

Fire signs are naturally the most extroverted signs so they may be more drawn to statement pieces and louder items that express their creativity and exuberance. Depending on the full mix of their big three, they may be drawn to more elevated pieces that convey quality and a little luxury... ahem, diamonds!

What are the air signs’ jewellery style?

Air signs are all about fluidity and change, so they will be most likely to have a wide assortment of jewellery and flit between different styles depending on their mood and environment. They will be the ones who wear lots of pieces at once too, to create an assorted style (perfect for stacking) as they LOVE variety!

What are the water signs’ jewellery style?

Water signs will cherish items that have been brought for them by loved ones - so you can never go wrong by buying a water sign a sentimental piece! They’re more likely to wear items that hold significance, such as their star sign, a locket or jewel that holds greater meaning to them.

What are the earth signs' jewellery style?

Earth signs are drawn to texture and tangible details in their jewellery so they tend to favour gemstones and refined, understated styles that reflect quality and craftsmanship. Think elegant without being flashy. They will be the signs most likely to hold onto precious pieces for life!
